Sandstone Peak + Inspirational Point via Mishe Mokwa Trail

This is probably one of the best hike I’ve had so far here in California.

Check out the short video I made below and let me know what you think!

This trail’s an easy but a long one. It offers a variety of scenic and breathtaking views. Watch out for the next post which will include the photos I took during this hike.

About this Random Blog and it’s Random Author

A virtual space;
A sanctum of thoughts.
Full of moments to be shared,
and stories to be heard.
I am sharing a piece of myself;
Baring my heart and my soul.
I am constantly mustering courage
for publishing these posts…
and pushing these buttons.
I am putting myself out there,
Hoping to be heard and to inspire others.
I try my best to be authentic.
So this space may sometimes be full of antics.
Now a little bit about me,
A simple young man trying to be free.
Free of these world’s restrictions.
Free of these time’s afflictions.
Free of these different negative emotions.
And definitely free from my own limitations.
I smile.
I cry.
I hide.
I love.
I lust.
I am the random author of this random blog.
A random millennial, who’s trying his luck.
Moving to a new city,
in a different country,
in the opposite side of the world.
Adjusting to new norms and culture.
Working hard, molding that dear future.
That’s why..
Every now and then,
I miss the Philippines.
I miss the place I grew up in.
I miss the food I usually eat.
I miss the people I usually hangout with.
I miss my family.
I miss home.
Anyway, back to me, the random author
Who loves the great outdoors
and who equally enjoys the good old fashion indoors.
Sometimes spontaneous.
Most of the time planned.
Taking baby steps moving forward.
But most of the time, finds myself taking a step backwards.
I don’t even know what this is,
but please let me say this,
Thank you!
Thank you for reading the musings
of a random sunset-loving millennial.
And remember, most of the time I feel lazy,
that’s why I won’t be able to post constantly.
But when I do,
I sure hope you enjoy it too.

Greeneries and Histories

If you’re looking for a place to visit during the spring in Los Angeles then look no further, the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Garden is the perfect spot to hangout and visit during any season, actually! But I think you’ll enjoy the hues of the trees and flowers better when it’s spring time!

It’s a whole different world once you step inside the Arboretum. You will be able to enjoy the different landscapes from various continents such as Africa, Australia and Asia. The place will give you a glimpse of the rich and diverse environment of the world. Aside from this, you will get to enjoy a historical site that includes Native American, Rancho period and  genuine artifacts/treasures from the 19th Century.

Tucked in the hills near San Gabriel Mountains at Arcadia, California. This place is very accessible to everyone. It is perfect for those who want to have a quality with your family, friends or just yourself, like I did!

With just a $9 Admission, you get to enjoy this wonder of nature and history. Don’t worry about food as they also have a Café if ever you get hungry while walking around this 127-acre botanical garden – grab some refreshment or good snacks from Peacock Café.

Check out some of the photos I took during my quick trip to LA Arboretum.

For more information, visit their official website at http://www.arboretum.org

Hope you’ll get the chance to check out this awesome place soon!

Daily Habit

I sit.
Contemplate.
And Pause.

I breathe.
Think.
And write.

I Remember.
Reflect.
And smile.

I type.
Check.
And re-write.

I finish.
Save.
And share.

Fleeting time.
Moments Captured.
Thoughts written.
Heart poured.

Good things shall come.

Hopefully.

Optimism should always be a habit.

Best,
Ardent Wayfarer.

Hi, there!

It’s been a while! I have a lot of things and events I would like to write about. I am in a happy place right now. It seems that after months of  bumming and struggling, most of the things in my life seem to be falling into the right place. It’s not perfect but, I’m pretty sure nothing is in this world. It all boils down on how we perceive things that’s currently happening around us. If we try hard enough, we will be able to see the good in everything and everyone. That’s for sure!

I just started with my new work more than a month ago. It’s far from perfect but I know for now, it’ll do. I am able to enjoy my free time and I must admit, I’m still trying to figure out what’s the most productive thing to do during my free time. Maybe this, I can definitely write, right? or travel (I just have to save some more, maybe in a month or two, I’ll finally be able to say I’m financially stable) or try to study something I’m interested in that would benefit me in the long run. Whatever it is, I’m still trying to figure that out. And by the way, I’m still struggling with trying to live a healthy life. It’s definitely a hurdle I should overcome soon. I know, I will.

See, as I’ve said nothing’s perfect. I maybe happy but that doesn’t mean I’m not struggling. I think that it will always be a choice. Whether you let bad things ruin your day or let it be a learning experience for you and focus your energy on all the good instead.

I hope that you will be able to see the good in everything and everyone. It might be a challenge at times but I know you can! Let’s all try to live the life we want. Cheers to more adventure, happiness and mistakes! Let’s learn from these experiences and try to be a better each and every chance we get!

Best,

Time Flies

It literally does, doesn’t it – whether you are having fun or facing challenges. Time flies really fast. Especially for us, humans.

Human life is fragile and fleeting.

As cliche as it may sound, one must truly live in the moment while treasuring those special memories we’ve had in the past.

We should live like a child. They spend time without thinking of actually spending it. They are spending it on things that’s worth something to them. Children live their lives in a quite predictable and straightforward manner. They express whatever it is they are feeling – the way they appreciate simple things, the way they laugh on small stuff, the way they cry whether it be because they are happy or sad, the way they are curious to things around them, the way they play, their innocence, charm and spirit. We should, in a way, live like them.

Can you remember those days when you didn’t give a damn on what other people think, so long as you are doing what makes you happy? Can you remember those days when you are taught what is right and wrong; and you strive your best to do the former? Can you remember the days you spent wondering on how things are made or how things work? Can you remember those times when you are full of life? Remember those days when you get knocked down but you just getup right away and you learn to do better?

Time flies, right? So let us take a small step back and learn from the younger versions of ourselves. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll be able to live a little better.

Candid

If there’s one thing I like taking photos of the most it’d be candid shots of my friends or random strangers.

There’s something about unrehearsed photos that I find appealing; the vulnerability of it. The genuineness of the photo. A true moment stolen and immortalized.

If a picture is worth a thousand words. Candid ones is worth more.

Think of it as an art. A bare one; a photo stripped of all its pretensions.

It is and will always be my favorite kind of photo.
